State Tax Laws - Alaska

There is no personal income tax or inheritance tax in Alaska. There also is no state sales tax, but some localities charge a tax of up to 7.5%. There is a corporate income tax in Alaska ranging from 1% to 9.4%. The top income tax bracket comes in at a very low $90,000, possibly making this a state where corporations are not the wisest entity structure unless really needed, or structured as an S-corp. LLC’s and partnerships must file a biannual business report that costs $100 every two years to submit.
